2'-Azido-2'-deoxycytidine-5'-Triphosphate contains an azido group at the 2' position which allows labeling of DNA and RNA with alkyne-containing "click" reagents. 2'-Azido-dUTP is also used in aptamer synthesis to expand on the canonical nucleotides and increase variation in binding characteristics.
